Hello everyone!! As you can guess from the title this post is about my recent bookshelf organization! I have these amazing bookshelves in my bedroom stuffed to the brim with books (sorted by color of course). Upon returning from BookExpo 2017 I realized that in addition to my bookshelves I had a lot of piles of books around my room. Piles from BookExpo 2017, piles from BookExpo 2016, and piles from purchases, and–as you can imagine the list goes on and on. I decided to enlist my boyfriend for some company (plus he’s really strong) and picked a lazy summer afternoon to complete my goal.
First we de-shelved + sorted all of my books. I created piles of books I wanted to keep, books I wanted to trade/sell, books I wanted to donate, and books that were not mine that needed to be returned (#guilty). The picture provided is only a section of what we were sorting but were the majority of the books that I planned on keeping.
After the de-shelving and sorting my boyfriend and I tackled the next biggest job which was sorting the books by color. This probably took the most amount of time but eventually we had books sorted into white, black, blue, green, yellow, orange, red, pink, and purple. As it turns out the most frequent color of spine was black and white as a close second. Go figure!
Finally (after several hours) we loaded the books back onto the shelves and I am proud to present the finished product.
I’m really excited with the finished product (and feel like my room is a little less cluttered too)! I had so much fun revisiting titles I’m fond of as well as ones I’m excited to read throughout this process. If you’re curious about any of the books that I have available for trade please refer to my twitter post here and DM with inquires!
