If ya’ll haven’t heard it’s WORLD BOOK DAY!!!! Want some more information about the organization? Check out their website here. So…to celebrate? I’m going to share what I’ve been up to as of late/some of my favorite book and academic things in the world right now.
Untwine by Edwidge Danticat was one of my favorite reads as of late. I think in terms of audience it falls in that sort of gray area between MG and YA, but I was very fond of how Danticat’s writing translated for a younger audience. Not once did she make an effort to shield the reader from the harshness of reality.
This past month, I had the pleasure of listening to Hamilton tracks in a class for the second time this year. To my delight, the way my Literature of the Northeast course approached Hamilton was entirely different than the way we approached it in AP US History. None the less, with Hamilton on the brain I’ve been getting extra excited for the release of Alex and Eliza: A Love Story this spring.
Also, I don’t want to re-gush too much about Dreamland Burning, but read my Waiting on Wednesday post because I’m dying to get my hands on it.
I’ve also being listening to the On Being podcast. Ya’ll should most certainly check it out. 🙂
Well ya’ll that’s all I’ve got to share for now.
