“Waiting On Wednesday” is a weekly meme hosted by Breaking the Spine where bloggers can showcase books that we are eagerly waiting for.
This week I’m waiting for Winter by Marissa Meyer.
Publication:
November 12th 2015 by Feiwel and Friends
Princess Winter is admired by the Lunar people for her grace and kindness, and despite the scars that mar her face, her beauty is said to be even more breathtaking than that of her stepmother, Queen Levana.
Winter despises her stepmother, and knows Levana won’t approve of her feelings for her childhood friend–the handsome palace guard, Jacin. But Winter isn’t as weak as Levana believes her to be and she’s been undermining her stepmother’s wishes for years. Together with the cyborg mechanic, Cinder, and her allies, Winter might even have the power to launch a revolution and win a war that’s been raging for far too long.
Can Cinder, Scarlet, Cress, and Winter defeat Levana and find their happily ever afters?
Why I’m Waiting:
Why I’m waiting? Why aren’t you waiting? This is the final installment of The Lunar Chronicles! I can still remember being on Spring Break in Florida when I was in middle school and reviewing Cinder for the first time. Gahhh I can’t believe that this series is ending! I truly know in my heart that Meyer will do the series justice, as she always does. This series is one that I always point to as being the perfect example of each book have its own individual plot while retaining an overarching plot as well. SQUEEE everyone is going to have a happy ending people we are so close! If you haven’t read The Lunar Chronicles, you have a little less than a month to get it together and read the series. Do it. DO IT!

Have you posted a review of Cinder? I just couldn’t seem to get through it…
Mary says
Hi Justine! I think that there’s probably an old review of it from when it came out, but tucked in my archives. Did you try searching for it? As for your reading experience–I’m sorry that it hasn’t worked out for you, although I will say that even some of my favorite books I had to try a couple times, so don’t give up! 😀
