Stacking the Shelves is a book blogging meme created by Tynga’s Reviews. Although it is hosted weekly, book bloggers are encouraged to share posts about recent book hauls at any time.
I recently was on vacation and spent a ridiculous amount of time browsing in bookstores. I haven’t done a haul video in a while because rarely do I buy so many books in such a close period. I though it would be a good time to re-introduce this meme to the blog.
Outlander by Diana Gabaldon (After hearing Abookutopia gush I put this on my TBR and grabbed copy)
Vanishing Girls by Laruen Oliver (Although I didn’t have the best of luck with Lauren’s most recent YA, Panic, I still adore her other books and knew I had to pick up a thriller/mystery)
Saint Anything by Sarah Dessen (Its been so long since I’ve read any of Sarah’s books but I love her hearty contemporary style and snagged a signed copy)
Finding Audrey by Sophie Kinsella (I found this at the bookstore and was like ‘Why is this not on my radar?’ My Goodreads shows me mixed reviews so Idk?)
Lois Lane: Fallout by Gwenda Bond (This is one I have been aware of, and when I found a copy at a small indie bookstore I couldn’t help buying and supporting)
Before I get started with this stack I though that I should acknowledge that yes, I snagged some ARCs while on this vacation. But how Mary, you can’t buy ARCs at bookstores, or anywhere really? Well, one of the bookstores I was at was just GIVING THEM AWAY so I had to grab them!
Out of the Easy by Ruta Sepetys (I adored Between Shades of Gray and thought that it was about time I read something else by her)
Proof of Forever by Lexa Hillyer (Well, a summer themed mystery is right up my ally. Perhaps it will be a la We Were Liars?)
Fans of the Impossible Life by Kate Scelsa (I can remember the day that I marked this as TBR on Goodreads, AND I’M INCREDIBLY STOKED TO HAVE A COPY!!!! Seems sort of Simon vs. The Homo-Sapiens Agenda? Idk WE WILL SEE)
Never Always Sometimes by Adi Alslaid (Wait, a book where the characters are aware of clichés and try to avoid them but ultimately fail? Count me in!)
The Martian by Andy Weir (It’s so rare for a self published book to get so much hype, well it started as self published. My Dad’s cousin thoroughly pushed me into this book, but what can I say, I’m curious? It’s apparently ridiculously well written and about Mars, which is a constant obsession. Where can I go wrong?)
All in all, I’m ridiculously excited about all the books from my haul! Is there anything you recognize? What’s a book you’ve recently bought or received?
