April was a weird month for me, I’m not sure why, but it ended up being super awkward!?!
Books:
I didn’t read as much this month as I did in March, partly due to the fact that I was back and school.
Second Chance Summer by Morgan Matson
Taylor Edwards’ family might not be the closest-knit—everyone is a little too busy and overscheduled—but for the most part, they get along just fine. Then Taylor’s dad gets devastating news, and her parents decide that the family will spend one last summer all together at their old lake house in the Pocono Mountains.
Crammed into a place much smaller and more rustic than they are used to, they begin to get to know each other again. And Taylor discovers that the people she thought she had left behind haven’t actually gone anywhere. Her former best friend is still around, as is her first boyfriend…and he’s much cuter at seventeen than he was at twelve.
As the summer progresses and the Edwards become more of a family, they’re more aware than ever that they’re battling a ticking clock. Sometimes, though, there is just enough time to get a second chance—with family, with friends, and with love.
The Infinite Moment of Us by Lauren Myracle
For as long as she can remember, Wren Gray’s goal has been to please her parents. But as high school graduation nears, so does an uncomfortable realization: Pleasing her parents once overlapped with pleasing herself, but now… not so much. Wren needs to honor her own desires, but how can she if she doesn’t even know what they are?
Charlie Parker, on the other hand, is painfully aware of his heart’s desire. A gentle boy with a troubled past, Charlie has loved Wren since the day he first saw her. But a girl like Wren would never fall for a guy like Charlie—at least not the sort of guy Charlie believes himself to be.
And yet certain things are written in the stars. And in the summer after high school, Wren and Charlie’s souls will collide. But souls are complicated, as are the bodies that house them…
Sexy, romantic, and oh-so-true to life, this is an unforgettable look at first love from one of young adult fiction’s greatest writers.
T.V.
As usual, I didn’t watch a lot of T.V. this month, but I certainly tooned in for the heartbreaking and most talked about Grey´s Anatomy episode ever. I’ve never been the biggest fan of the series, but it the reaction was certainly entertaining.
Movies:
I’m not sure if I watched any movies this month. But hey, Emma Watson’s going to star as Belle in the live action Beauty and the Beast!!!! I don’t think that I could be any more excited about it. Oh and have you seen the Star Wars trailer?!?
Music:
I’ve been listening to Spotify’s “Indie Pop” mix a lot. I also re-fell in love with Birdy and Gabrielle Aplin.
