This book was entirely exciting. I’m a fan of time-travel, and this book didn’t disappoint. The concept was just fascinating, and I never felt like the explanation was too far fetched.
Our characters were wonderful. I did prefer Em as narrator, but Mariana was certainly endearing. The whole thing with the double person was interesting, and not at all confusing. Although the author doesn’t exactly come right out and tell you, we figure it out pretty quickly.
This premise of two races against time, parallel but with different motives was adventurous. When the two collided, I experienced one of the best written climaxes ever.
The ending felt safe, but it did conclude all of the plot threads. I’m slightly concerned about a sequel, because even though I love the characters, I’m worried about the concept. After everything is wrapped up, what could the author possibly have to go on?
Please don’t let it be one of those sequels where the author is like, “They were safe, but at the start of this book everything you knew and loved is in shambles.” Those book tend to suck.
Anyway, this was a great read and one of my favorites of the year! I did prefer the ARC cover to the final cover. I understand the whole clock thing, but it just didn’t give the story justice.
